Two years ago I moved across the country to my home state, leaving half of my belongings and all of my heart in North Dakota. Beginning a new job, temporarily being a single mother and waiting for my husband to separate from the military was an eventful time. Professional dress for work was a challenge that day as I wore tube socks with leather shoes and dress pants. I laughed about it because I had to.
Today I look at this and realize I’ve always worn tube socks with leather shoes and dress pants. Metaphorically, sometimes literally.
I’ve always been me.
